Chris got his start working with KONG Radio in 2002, the same year a couple of movies with Kauaʻi connections premiered. He’s a “local boy” born and raised here, hailing from the town of Hanamāʻulu, but now residing in Līhuʻe.
In his spare time, Chris loves to travel. He has road tripped all over the mainland US and Canada and has visited 22 other States and 7 Provinces. He’s also visited 43 other countries around the world. Though he is most proficient in Hawaiian Pidgin and knows basic English, he has also learned a number of words in a handful of other languages from countries he’s travelled to. “I understand a little-bit of Spanish and Russian” he says, as he has spent some time traveling through Eastern Europe and South America.
Little known fact is Chris has worked a few years in the customer service and tourism industries. He grew up around tourism as other family members worked at hotels. “I remember running around Coco Palms as a kid as my grandmother and mother worked there.” He also once managed a discount movie theatre on the Ninth Island of Las Vegas and also often travels there where he also has a lot of relatives.
