Lala

Lala loves to learn about all kinds of music, old and new, and has cultivated a broad knowledge base over many years of curating music professionally and recreationally.

With over a decade in live radio at KKCR Kauaʻi Community Radio, Lala has had the privilege to work alongside many popular Hawaiian music artists, beloved kumu hula and other important community figures. During her tenure there, she began to learn ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, which she continued at Kauaʻi Community College.

Lala strives for meaningful connection with her audience. She is guided by a powerful respect for the art of radio and driven by a deep sense of responsibility to serve her community.

Lala moved to Kauaʻi from Waikīkī in 2012. When she’s not on the air, she enjoys hiking, fresh water kayaking, cooking, and record collecting. She is a professional vinyl DJ and performs periodically in lounges, listening bars, and underground music venues in her hometown of Los Angeles.
